Born in Wisconsin, I spent my youth in the suburbs of Chicago and New Haven, CT. After living in 8 states, including time in the Zuni Indian Pueblo, Europe and Mexico, I currently live and work in New York City.
My interest in painting, specifically acrylic stain painting, emerged during my undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I received a BA in Fine Art. Expression was encouraged and I became intrigued with the materiality of the medium and its potential.
Along
with painting I also have an interest in space design. Studying Architecture
at the University of Florida, I received an MArch, and then went on to become
an RA. In architecture practice I specialize in artist studios, museum spaces
and performing arts theaters.
